"The United States of America is often said to be one of the best countries in the world. People often believe it is the richest, the most advanced, the strongest, and the most democratic nation in the international community. Thousands of immigrants come into our country every year to start a new life in this Land of Opportunity, the Stronghold of the Free Land, and we must always remember this.

"However, the path that our nation has been taking for the past half-century is now harming us more than helping individuals. Our country was created based on the principles of prosperity and freedom, but both are being ignored, if not stepped on, by our governments every day.

"During the first era of the US's history, we believed in limited government and capitalism, but slavery was a stain on our record. When President Lincoln fought back against the Confederation and freed the slaves, he also established a tradition of high tariffs to help local businesses and enterprises but threatening competition. In 1913, President Wilson lowered tariffs, attracting foreign competitors in America, but also created an Income Tax that decreased investment and personal savings. Taxes were lowered and tariffs once more diminished during the Roaring Twenties, but the Federal Reserve, also created by Woodrow Wilson, pursued an inflationary policy that led to the Great Depression. And since the 1940s, Regulation, Regulation, Regulation...

"In this 21st century, which is the beginning of a new era for the world as technology and science are going to be leading the globe, we need to put a stop to this terrible cycle of mistakes and backwardness, to make a more perfect union. We need to understand that a left-wing economy is a theory of the past, similar to Mercantilism and Socialism. We need to understand that government-mandated values and morality are also a thing from the past. The future that we need to reach for is one of freedom, prosperity, reason, and responsibility.

"This is why I am running for President. Not only do I think our current leadership is worsening the situation the former administration had put us in, but also I believe that a wise and a good governance is what the American people deserve. Limited government is good, but it is not enough. Free markets are good, but they are never enough. Social freedom is noble, but it is not enough, neither.

"Based on the principles of free trade, free markets, and free minds, I am running as an independent for the Presidency of the United States, with the respectable Kimberly Johnson. If we stand together, we can bring a New Vision for America, one of Prosperity and Freedom."
